Katja is set and costume designer/ maker, artist and has been living and working in Australia since 2002. For the past 16 years she has worked on a wide range of projects in film, performing and visual arts as well as in events.
In Australia she worked as a theatre designer with companies such as Belvoir Theatre, TRS, Darlinghurst Theatre, Legs on the Wall, Shopfront Theatre, De Quincey Co and Sydney Festival. Overseas credits include production designs for Studiobuehne Berlin and Artisti Senza Frontiere in Italy.
In film she worked as production designer (short films in UK), costume art finisher and also held positions as head of leather on MAD MAX: FURY ROAD (Sydney Pre Production) and as key costume props on THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER
In 2014 she was engaged by MOD Productions as an installation artist and set designer for Power of One, an interactive exhibition for the Museum of Democracy at Old Parliament House. In 2015 she collaborated with MOD again for Action Stations! at the Australian Maritime Museum in Sydney.
Currently she is designing set and costumes for THE OUTSIDE MAN at Merrigong Theatre Company which will open in March 2017.
She has a longstanding relationship as an artist and mentor in various disciplines with Shopfront Contemporary and Belvoir's educational program.
